This is a blog about our experiences living and teaching in Cairo, Egypt, and our reflections after the fact. A blog insists upon its own immediacy, and we will not always understand what we experience or get it right. But we hope we can grow and evolve as a result of contemplation.

Would love to visit - just need Amanda and Brooke to make it through the plane trip:)
Miss you!
Love the pictures!
I talked w/ Bryan on the phone yesterday. Aside from what was so tramatic he couldn't even talk about it--the cruelty of eating chickpeas--he was gushing about Egypt and the trip. Sounds like you two were gracious, knowledgeable, delightful hosts.
I am now daydreaming about my trip to Egypt.
You're welcome anytime, Sari.
Man, we really had a U2 "The Joshua Tree" album cover kind of thing going on in that third photo, didn't we? That’s usually how it is with Adriana and me: accidentally hip, two decades late.
For all you dawdlers who are thinking about trying the A & J Egypt Experience, I highly recommend you take advantage of it while you can. They cook for you! They provide bath products! They run you like ponies on the training track and you enjoy every minute of it!
Two pieces of advice if you choose to go: stay away from cranky old men and their giant cabbages, and try the Muslim Brotherhood’s chocolate cake.
Egypt is stunning on many different levels, and this was one of the best trips we've ever had. Mummified crocodiles, stoned felucca crewmen, and the blue, blue waters of the Nile--it's all awesome, but not half as awesome as hanging out with A & J. Thanks guys.
omg. so jealous. of the bryan-n-adriana, the touring, the all of it. sounds amazing.
but bryan, i never stay away from cranky men with giant cabbages. never. how do you think i met my husband?!
I'm so, so jealous. Not fair.
