Today we took a felucca ride on the Nile. That there in the photo is a felucca. At first, five feluccas were roped together and we bobbed along and ate. Eventually, each boat was freed from the rest. We glided until the sun set and the call to prayer was finished.

What a lovely picture. Did you take it?
Mom
While you are sailing on a felucca and purchasing extraordinary mangoes and getting your shoes shined and writing so eloquently, you are missing feisty little Midwestern moments like Amy Klobuchar and Mark Kennedy debating testily at the Minnesota State Fair.
Having a wonderful time reading your blog. Wish I was there.
Envy, envy, envy. Is it the felucca, the mangoes, the Nile River sleak and cat-like, the mopeds, the traffic, the heat? Yes and yes to all of these, but mostly to the guavas. We used to eat guava sauce on our pancakes, guava jam on our toast and every day a guava snack while we played. But I haven't had a good guava in years. Enjoy oh lucky ones!
